WeatherTrac Announces Availability of WtCap V2.0 for Microsoft Windows-NT

Extends Multi-channel WtCap Capability to Microsoft's Flagship Platform

February 1, 1997 -- Allentown, PA. WeatherTrac Industries announced today that V2.0 of the WeatherTrac WtCap Capture Control was available for customer delivery. This release extends V1.XX of WtCap, which supported Windows-95, to the Windows-NT platform. Both platforms are now supported from a common WIN32 source and executable code set, but are separately priced and licensed. Either version is field upgradeable to support the other.

The common install disk detects installation under either Windows-95 or Windows-NT. If installation under Windows-NT is detected, an additional NT Kernel mode driver is installed and configured, which is not installed under Windows-95. Both versions register themselves and can be easily un-installed.

WtCap provides multi-threaded configuration and control of either 1, 2 or 3 simultaneous channels of independently scheduled WEFAX, APT, HF-FAX, and/or HF-RTTY. Any single channel can have both WEFAX, APT, and HF inputs connected to a single receiver/demodulator, and be switched under scheduler control between the available signal inputs. However, with the multi-channel option, these data streams can be independently scheduled and captured simultaneously from multiple receiver/demodulator sources.

WtCap creates image files compatible with the WeatherTrac Analysis ensemble, but can also be configured to output images as PCX files with the standard filter provided with the software. The software provides easy to manage "hooks" for post-processing of captured images, and can be configured to automatically invoke this(or any)file filter as soon as each image is captured. In addition, this capability can be provided on demand via Drag&Drop configuration. Custom filtering, such as the creation of ground truth control point files for Earth location, can also be provided. The post processing function is independently configurable for each of up to 3 channels.

Windows-NT and Windows-95 are registered trademarks of Microsoft Corporation.
